I have put together a number of judgments for those that would be disciples of Christ.
Really, I am just listing some of the commandments of God to the Saints, and putting them together for those who are weak in the word of faith. Sort of a “FAQ” for those I keep meeting who are confused about how it all fits together. Figure out how these commandments affect your life, and consider these things for yourself. If any of this surprises you then you likely have ways to change before God, and perhaps a repentance to work out and a life to reorganise, for these are not my commandments or opinions, but those of the Lord Jesus, Whom you say you believe in.
I don’t say that from an ivory tower, either. In the formative years of my faith I have stumbled in nearly every one of these, even meaning well. I have had to learn the narrow way, diligently setting my face to believe the word of God, crawling back to God one by one, acknowledging and repenting and amending in tears and strifes, cleansing myself of all.
The contents are as follows:
PART ONE (BELOW):
PREAMBLE: JUDGE NOT, THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED:
JUDGING SOCIETIES, NATIONS AND GOVERNMENTS
PART TWO: ON THOSE WITHOUT FAITH
JUDGING THE WORLD AND UNCONVERTED SINNERS
JUDGING FAMILY, AND AS CHILDREN AND WIVES
I am working on part 3: judging those who have come to (passed) faith.
PART ONE
“JUDGE NOT, THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED”
So. You suppose that “judgment” is some awful, Pharisaic, terribly unChristian, unChrist-like thing huh? Or you’re REAL STUCK on judge not, that ye be not judged [GMt 7:1], huh? You are either BRAND NEW to the faith, or I don’t believe you, and neither does God, before Whom your dissembling heart is as evident as if it were encased in glass. For first of all, why haven’t you sat down and thought about all those “contradictions” you think you see, putting the word and commandments of God side by side in your heart, considering and pondering HOW COULD IT ALL FIT TOGETHER? And I mean.. UNTIL you break through and conclude, by faith, the ONLY possibilities whereby they all make sense in harmony? In so doing, you would have gone about the “labour of faith,” and wrought the works of God [GJn 6:28-29], and thus believed on the Lord Jesus, showing yourself a disciple. Whosoever EVEN SEES “contradictions” in the word certainly does not abide in the light, as He is in the light, and hasn’t even come to believe that God is true [GJn 3:33], nor have you believed that he that seeketh findeth [GLk 11:10]. Actually, even the very notion of “contradiction” — or of ANY PROBLEM — in God’s word or His expression thereof is an insult to His Truth, and you are tacitly accusing the Holy Ghost of speaking in vain [Jam 4:5], in denial of 1Ti 3:16.
And I’m going to harp on about this a moment more, because this is truly to your shame, and only hypocrites get “stuck” and stay stuck here. You evidently haven’t even begun to build your tower [GLk 14:28], and you are languishing in all the rubble of what you thought to start but wouldn’t finish, rightly confused before the unbelievers and rightly mocked for the incompleteness of your doctrine and ridiculous religion — Jesus said so. But the Saints are not so, but we pray, In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: LET ME NEVER be put to confusion [Psa 71:1]. The LORD is not your strong tower yet [Psa 61:3], for you refuse to build up His Name in your heart [Pro 18:10], and IN YOU is the judgment of the Lord fulfilled that whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have [GLk 8:18]. You can’t possibly be walking by faith, and every Christian that does not live by faith is DAMNED [Heb 10:38].
But as with everything: I write these articles not for such, but to rescue the beloved Lambs and Sheep of my Lord who WANT to believe ALL the word of God, and are GENUINELY STUCK — which could only be because they are hindered and surrounded and snared by liars, and hypocrites, and such thorns from which they do not know how to come forth. For such was I, and such have all true disciples been at one point or another, being born and surrounded by this evil generation. And I explain this to you (in particular) plainly, even as the Lord explained to His disciples privately after speaking in parables to “them,” [GMt 13:34,36] because it is given unto YOU to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to THEM it is NOT GIVEN [GMt 13]. Nevertheless, you should learn to believe for yourself, as the Lord also said [GMk 4:13].
Oh, True Believer! Come to the light, and also cleanse your hands before God! Make every effort to ensure that you are a you and not a them, for “they” truly think they are the “you” to whom the Scriptures speak, and they will die in their deceits and sins and vain religion. And you can bet they will die praying, and taking the name of “Jesus,” and in total confidence that having vaguely “trusted the work of the cross,” that they are indeed saved. Be ye not therefore like unto them [GMt 6:8].
E V E R Y T H I N G in our lives is categorized by the Lord’s Bible, and every thing has a biblical definition. (It is the blind, and not the Saints, who say nonsense like, “What shall we believe about such-and-such? The word doesn’t tell us.”) To obey the commandments and do the will of God you need to both understand the definitions of the things in His word, and also recognize the times and circumstances to which they apply — treating persons and things differently depending on context, for the wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment [Ecc 8:5].
For example: just as fulfilling the law (old testament) [Rom 8:13] hinges thematically on two commandments (being what’s left of the Law, since the shadows and ordinances are removed in Christ [Eph 2:15, Col 2:14, Heb 9:10]), from which two commandments all the others are derived [Jam 2:8], FULFILLING THE NEW TESTAMENT (which comes after and upon the law [GMt 11:13]1) hinges on correctly identifying the the World, the Brethren, and the Children of the Devil.
Anyway, there are obviously many more things defined by the word, and if you continue in [His] word [GJn 8:31] you will learn them, becoming throughly furnished [2Ti 3:17] to do the will of God. When you HAVE those definitions, you will find the various things of the world around you FITTING their various definitions, and all those commandments of the Lord FITTING all those circumstances, and NOT FITTING other definitions and circumstances. These CONCLUSIONS of faith that the believers find themselves coming to, are THE GODLY JUDGMENTS OF THE SAINTS.
The fact that I just had to DRAG this explanation out so plainly as to a spiritual infant to answer the judge-not!-crowd really should be a fear and embarrassment to anyone that is evil enough to have summarily rested on one of the doctrinal cornerstones of Apostasy. You ought not to have resisted these simple thoughts and conclusions (which I wrote out as, what, two minutes’ worth of reading time?), and I mean AT ALL, ever, instead of seeking the truth of the Lord Jesus. The fact that you have done so perfectly accords with the manners of those who endure for a while, for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is OFFENDED at what the Word bids you believe and do [GMt 13:21]. You have not believed the Lord, but rather the traditions (norms) of men [GMt 15:3,6] instead, JUST LIKE THE JEWS DID. But here you are now, hearing this reproval — and what will you do?
So what about judge not? Maybe I addressed it here, somewhere. I say this to your shame: for this commandment of the Lord is not “more important” than any other [Jam 3:11], nor than all the other imperatives of the will of God unto those who are determined to find Him and believe unto life. For our God LOVETH JUDGEMENT [Psa 33:5, Psa 37:28, Psa 99:4, Hos 12:6, Pro 21:15 and a thousand other scriptures…] and condemns those that lack or pervert it [Pro 13:23, Pro 28:5, Pro 21:7, etc], which includes your Pharisee boogeymen, by the way [GMt 23:23]. Don’t get me wrong: I see and reprove modern version of scribes and Pharisees all the time, but they aren’t the ones who most think they are, and they certainly don’t realize it themselves. You have not understood the Pharisee’s errors and reasons for being so fiercely opposed by Jesus, although you could have just believed the Lord on the matter [GMk 8:15, GLk 12:1, GMt 23, etc]. That’s the same Jesus who commanded to search the scriptures [GJn 5:39] and JUDGE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT [GJn 7:24], by the way.
JUDGING SOCIETIES, NATIONS AND GOVERNMENTS
It really needn’t be said that we obey the laws of the land [Rom 13:1-7, 1Pe 2:13-17] until and unless they bid us deny, disobey, or displease the Lord in any thing [Act 5:29]. Even as Paul said in Romans 13, so was it also under the law:
4 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the Lord, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
— JEREMIAH 27This is all unmistakable stuff: SUBMIT to the GODLESS KING that God has given the land, or PERISH. Render (αποδοτε: “meet obligation”) unto Caesar, because the land and nation IS HIS, and it is his FROM GOD, and it DOESN’T MATTER that Nebuchadnezzar and his kingdom were Bel (Baal) worshippers, or that Caesar was a godless, damned and worldly politician that didn’t know or care about the Hebrews’ God at all. Nor that kings reward their friends and their most loyal sycophants, and that the nations under them are full of injustice, which the scriptures observe to be the norm in this world [Ecc 1:15, 5:8, etc]. GOD GIVES the nations to such, according to His will, in these ages before Jesus Christ returns to reign. The whole world is evil anyway, for now, so dominions have to go to somebody, and for now it goes to Satan [GLk 4:6]. For remember the dream of Nebuchadnezzar and the exhortation to men in it (Daniel 4):
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: TO THE INTENT THAT THE LIVING MAY KNOW that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it THE BASEST OF MEN.
— DANIEL 4:17Don’t be like the “Christian nationalist” sorts: there are no “good nations,” “Christian nations,” “sinful nations,” “Christian politicians,” etc. No, your country [Insert-Western-Nation] is not “fallen” into “wanton lasciviousness” and “sexual immorality” and needing of “prayers for this nation.” What!? ALL NATIONS are ALWAYS godless, and variously evil. God evaluates and judges nations by non-Christian standards, and you can find those judgments scattered throughout His word, and you just read two examples. Another example: our God acknowledges that [because of] the transgression of a land, many are the princes (various kinds of leaders) thereof [Pro 28:2], but even that is merely a practical observation. There is NO SUCH THING as a nation (or politician) that any true Christian could be “proud of,” or would “fight for,” nor try to reform, as though you are some Israeli king reforming the land back to the law of Moses. WHAT? “Christian politicians” are more or less impossible2, for we are not of the world [GJn 15:19], and to speak of the world is the mark of an antichrist [1Jn 4:5]. But he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth [GJn 3:31], and this they do, and must do. Moreover the Lord Jesus said that His kingdom is NOT of this world, nor is reformation of this world a thing the Lord’s servants fight for [GJn 18:36]. Christian nationalism is stupid churchian garbage, and flesh talk of flesh concerns, for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men [GMt 16:23]. We have NO CONTINUING CITY in this life [Heb 13:14], and “we as a nation” do not “need to repent;” for no nation is, as Israel was, chosen and covenanted to God by blood and ordinances of angels.
Yes, all men certainly need to repent and be converted individually, towards Christ and that by faith, and the narrow way is incompatible with every concern, word and thought of politics and society. Therefore, you should take your own advice first. Jesus made NO ATTEMPT to reform Israel, with the singular exception of twice fulfilling Malachi’s prophecy concerning the services in the Temple while it stood: which was about purifying a sanctified place of worship, not the nation. Instead of reforming, He called even His own first-testament nation “the world,” for we are of God, and THE WHOLE WORLD lieth in wickedness [1Jn 5:19].
GET OUT of politics, and culture, and society, and meddle not with them, for it has nothing to do with the Saints, but the blind and faithless will always busy themselves with these things, as did their fathers the Sadducees. Forsake opinions, forsake political loyalty, political passions, and all political affections. YES, I am perfectly aware of the history of the SO-CALLED churches and their long history of whorish [Rev 17:2] peace and allegiance and meddling with the world and its politics, and attempts to succour (they supposed) “the good of the land.” I am thoroughly aware of the histories of both the “Catholic nations” and “Protestant nations” of the past. I REJECT (for I think the word of God rejects) EVERY ONE of their worldly terms, aims, goals, and beliefs, as WORLDLY ERRORS — and I have no “side,” but the side of the word of my Lord Jesus. In fact, I can hardly believe this needs to be said aloud at all. The body of Christ is essentially an anarchy in and to the world, but it is by no means an anarchy unto God, who knows perfectly well who is who [2Ti 2:19, GJn 10:14]. Yes, I am SAYING OUTRIGHT that ALL attempts at “Christian institution,” and “Christian bureaucracy,” and ESPECIALLY “Christian government,” IS ALWAYS error, and sin, and if you’re still furrowing your brows and feeling contentious, I suppose you should go away and meddle with whatever seems best to you. For you are nowhere near the Spirit of the Lord, nor do you care for the word and doctrine of the Lord Jesus.
YES, our God chastiseth the heathen [Psa 94:10], but not on the basis of its official negligence (or citizens’ collective failure) to obey commandments which they have not yet covenanted with God. The nations of the world are NOT as was Israel under the law. Paul made it clear that we DO NOT JUDGE those outside (the body of Christ) [1Co 5:12] — God does — and trying to repudiate them for failing to uphold Christian values is remarkably stupid. This is as with one who goes on a diet, and then rails on everyone they see eating junk food for trespassing against the terms of their diet.
Wherein does God judge them then? Well, God has covenanted with men generally, not only with the Hebrews (ie: Israel) and Christians, and you can find those ordinances still alive and well in Genesis. Until a man converts to the Lord Jesus, in truth and Spirit, he will find himself under all those old pre-testament ordinances of God in the last state that such things were left. You can find Job, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel each talking about national judgments, and always and only in PRE-TESTAMENT TERMS. Other judgments of nations and princes are found in various places in the old testament. For example: the ordinances of the covenant with Noah yet stand, by which we know that (collective, legal, judicial, social) tolerance for bloodshed is important to God, and that the old world lacked these things, from which state the world was “baptized” by the flood [1Pe 3:21] and ordained by God to the carnal business in which it remains busied to this day. Then there is how any given people or nation treats the covenanted peoples of God (Hebrew, Jew, and Christian), and then there is burdening themselves with the burdensome stone of (the physical city of) Jerusalem [Zec 12:3] and the controversy of Zion [Isa 34:8]… to name only a few ways by which God judges nations.
Such things are essentially none of our Christian business, except to pray and intercede that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty [1Ti 2:1-2]. And that, by the way, will only even be possible when national events and wars and persecutions (etc) are not the foregone conclusions of the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power [Act 1:7], and of fulfilment of prophecy.
For Israel — which was given the law of God — was scarcely righteous for a single generation, once, under Moses and Joshua, and was never again righteous as a nation before God EVER. And if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? [GLk 23:32].
Not that the Law is the foundation, surely the word of Christ is the foundation, and not the word of Paul, nor of your priests, etc. But fulfilling the Law, and not sinning against it is easy to those that have believed and walk in the Spirit.
Converted Christian monarchs-by-birthright are another matter, concerning whom I abstain at this time from the many words necessary to expound my full opinion, and it is also irrelevant to the current day, age and point
